Legends of Chima: Character Encyclopedia[]

AKA Shadowind[]

For many years, the banished Lavertus has lived on his own in the Outlands as a lone Lion among strange Outlands tribes and Legend Beasts. To most, the reason for his exile from Chima is a mystery- as is wheter he will ever be able to return.

ShadoWind[]

In order to win CHI that will protect him in the Outlands, the xiled Lavertus disguises himself as the skilled racer ShadoWind. He then enters Speedor races to take the grand prize: Golden CHI!

Mysterious and Remote[]

After many years fending for himself in the Outlands, Lavertus has developed strange habits and odd manners. He's not all that easy to get along with, but he has hidden talents, such as the ability to build things, that make him a strong ally.

Did you Know?[]

Lavertus and Crominus once shared a love interest, Crunket, Queen of the Crocodile Tribe. The jealous Croc made sure his rival was out of the picture by orchestraiting his exile.

Biography[]

Lavetrus The Lion Warrior[]

Lavertus is an exiled member of the Lion Tribe and eventually revealed to be the brother of Lagravis and Laval's uncle. Apparently, Lavertus was sent into exiled because King Crominus framed him for stealing CHI using a Persuader Plant. Crominus did this in hopes of eliminating Lavertus as a rival for the affections of Crunket, who would later give Lavertus her scarf before he went into exile.

Lavertus in Exile[]

Lavertus managed to build a settlement in the Outlands and created the alter ego of ShadoWind in order to return to Chima in disguise and participate in racing with Speedorz and win Golden CHI. The first time Laval met him was during a race in which Dom de la Whoosh came out of retirement. The two encountered each other again several times prior to Mount Cavora being attacked by the Outlands Tribes and its flow of CHI being cut off.

When Laval and the other seven major Chima tribe champions arrived at his lair, Lavertus played the part of an addled hermit, though he surprised his visitors with his familiarity with the Legend Beasts. He allowed the group to stay in his lair but concealed his ShadoWind identity and Golden CHI from them. Eventually, he was found out that he was ShadoWind and agreed to help fight the Outland Tribes after his eight visitors worked together to defeat him in a Speedor race. With his help and advice, the heroes were able to liberate six of the eight Legend Beasts. However, when the time came to rescue the Lion Legend Beast and Wolf Legend Beast, Lavertus refused to help because the enemy was also holding his old rival Crominus captive.

Lavertus was eventually able to overcome his pride and came to the aid of his nephew and the others, using his Golden CHI to help them escape. Confronting Crominus, he returned Crunket's scarf to him and explained why he was able to be so forgiving. As Crominus would later reveal, Lavertus believed that his banishment had served a purpose, as it allowed for Cragger to be born and become one of Chima's greatest heroes. Lavertus bid his young friends goodbye and asked Laval to give his regards to Lagravis before being trapped by the cave-in at the Scorpion Tribe cavern. Or so we thought. He later returned when the Phoenix and Eris, Laval, Cragger tried to rescue Flinx, as they became trapped Lavertus appeared and told them, how he survived being buried to use Golden CHI, later on when asked how to escape he layed 12 Golden CHI to make 12 pillars to lift the Ice and rocks off.

He shows up in the Fangs and gives Laval the Pledge of the Pack that he somehow found in the Outlands, then speeds off.

The Black Cloud[]

For Chima![]

He caught Laval as he was falling in a fight with Cragger and took him to the Outlands, where they find the Crocodile Legend Beast and Crunket. He then speaks the only words he had ever been known to say: "For Chima!" and then he leaves into the Outlands.

Into the Outlands[]

Crunket reveals that ShadoWind rescued her and had the Crocodile Legend Beast bring her to Chima before the Dark Tribes captured the other Legend Beasts. His identity, Lavertus, later meets Laval, Cragger, Eris, Rhogon, Gorzan, Bladvic, Worriz and Razar and splits them up, revealing he knows where all the Legend Beasts are and allows them to stay in his Outland Base and share his new armor. However, that night he enters his secret room which is full of Golden CHI.

A Tangled Web[]

Lavertus comes to rescue the Queen Crunket from the spiders who captured her, Crug, and Crawley. He captures the spiders and frees Crunket, she claims to know him somehow, but he quickly rides away.

Back at the base, Lavertus come out of his secret room and realizes that the heroes are back, and they tell him they rescued two Legend Beasts, and Lavertus claims that he saw them outside. When Cragger asks if they passed him in the jungle, Lavertus answers that he was in the house all day doing important stuff, and offers the heroes cookies.

The Legend Thief[]

Lavertus is furious to find that his "stuff" (presumably the Golden CHI) was stolen out of his secret room, waking everyone up and interrogating Eris first of all, to which she denies and turns the blame on Razar and Rinona. Rejecting Cragger's request to know EXACTLY what was stolen, he goes to cool off outside for a bit, saying that if his stuff isn't returned by the time he does, every single one of the them must be gone. Later on, he spots the Raven Legend Beast flying around in the open, with his Golden CHI. "I'm coming for ya" he says to it. before he goes to chase the Beast down, the crew gives him his helmet that they found in the secret room. Lavertus tries his best to keep his secret identity hidden, but with all the evidence found he's put into submission. Donning his helmet, he almost leaves to go retrieve but is held up for a moment of admiration. Help is asked of him, though he replies he already has, but must give far more in order to rescue the Legend Beasts, and King Crominus. Cragger mentioning his father's name for some reason changes Lavertus's whole mood to anger, demanding that they leave. Laval holds back everyone's denial, promising that they'll leave peacefully. not without a race though. After another moment of getting admired by Laval, a wager is suggested of him needing to help if he loses the race.

Finally, the mysterious racer is beaten for the first time by the team work of our 8 heroes. surprised because he's never lost before, he learns to accept it and go through with his end of the bargain. Now agreed to help out, Lavertus takes the whole crew to the Scorpion Caves, hiding in the distance as a whole bunch of scorpions are seen guarding the entrance. As soon as the Raven Beast shows up, Lavertus notifies everyone. Razar shows much pleasure seeing his beast, explaining that it's also known as the "master criminal" in his tribe. Lavertus complains however that this master criminal was working for the Scorpions once he sees it deliver the Golden CHI to them, Razar in complete shock.

With a quick sigh, Lavertus blames himself for this. Sending us back to the past, he explains that he wasn't always ShadoWind back in the day, instead just an exiled Lion. But when the Bats, Spiders and Scorpions showed up, that's when he needed to do what he's renowned for, racing. The Golden CHI he won from the races helped him build his lair for protection from these 3 tribes, however, thanks to the scorpion's unique mind controlling sting, building walls isn't an option anymore thanks to their ability being able to make the Legend Beasts themselves their servants. That being why he built some effective armour for the Gorilla, Crocodile, and Rhino.

A plan now arranged, Lavertus leads Laval and Razar past the guards and into the cave, with their "special weapon" in Razar's hands and everyone else having to fight their way in sadly. running into some more guards along the way, Lavertus suggests that they take the "higher road" to get past (which was basically just ride their speedorz on the roof and somehow balance without falling down). Slowly sneaking their way into the exit room of the cave, Lavertus witnesses as his Golden CHI is used to continue bilding a giant statue of the "Great Scorpion", whom the Scorpions worship as a god. Noting this as one of the reasons they were avoided, including in the fact that they're very dangerous. No more talking is needed anymore because a guard finds them and alerts the king.

After Laval screams at Razar about his special weapon being a few jars of golden paint in a situation like this, Lavertus explains that a Raven's love for gold is what makes this weapon so special. Retrieving back his Golden CHI, Lavertus escapes the cave with his companions and another Beast. Back at the base, he simply gives a warm smile to the 8 heroes' celebration.

The Eagle and the Bear[]

Watching the Eagle Legend Beast from his telescope, Lavertus notifies the 8 heroes of her strange circling around a certain pillar, which she's been doing all day long. Hearing that Bladvic knows about a "secret garage" from his dream somehow, Lavertus explains to the rest, who are confused, that the Bear Legend Beast was his guest once or twice to help him with something in that exact place. Welcoming everyone into his secret garage, Lavertus shows them all a giant flying machine called "The Wind Shadow", built by the power of Golden CHI. Eris sees the similarity in the Wind Shadow to ShadoWind, Lavertus turning it into a joke and messing around with Cragger saying, "or did I?"

Flying his Wind Shadow all the way to the seesaw, Lavertus finds it strange why there isn't any guards to be seen, though that's a good thing to see. Once Bladvic and Laval get the seesaw to be steady, Lavertus asks what'll be needed to reinforce them with, listing in some rocks, a rope, and Laval's Speedor even, not able to throw any of it down because of the bear beast's slight moving interruption. Still, he slides down a rope with the Wind Shadow into auto pilot afterwards, but because of his whispering for Laval to wrap a rope tightly around the Bear Beast, he accidentally wakes up Bladvic and the Beast walks back to the edge. Unexpectedly, Lavertus is shot at by enemy fire. but before he's chased away, he leans the Wind Shadow backwards and tosses out to Laval his Speedor.

Tooth or Consequences[]

Lavertus interrupts Cragger's dream in the middle of the night, joking around with him once again. Before Cragger left to find Crominus, Lavertus stops him and yells out that he can't, while hiding something behind his back. Suspicious as ever, he's revealed to be holding Crunket's pink scarf, an obvious curiosity coming out of her son. After a minute of strange talking to the scarf, his denial to Cragger's search turns into encouragement as he goes into his room with the pink item.

His name mentioned to Crominus, the Crocodile King shows an extreme look of hate. Asked if they knew each other in the past, the answer is a "yes", a time that was very long ago. In the morning, seeing that two of their friends are gone, Lavertus is questioned by Laval to know where and why he let them leave. Replying that he thought they'd be fine, looking through his telescope to see them in a cage just put that prediction to shame. Once Gorzan alerts them that they're almost to "cave land", Lavertus gives them a warning of a high improvement in security. So to even up the odds, he shows everyone some upgrades done to their weapons which he did himself overnight, handing over to Laval, a very special weapon. that come to think of it, gets you a bit curious to know that only the "Lion Royal Family" possessed swords like these, swords that a stranger made.

Ignoring his question, Lavertus pushes Laval away and tries to send them off. Surprised that he won't be joining in on this one, Laval explains that this is more then just the Legend Beast, it's King Crominus as well. Enraged by that exact name, he screams out "NEVER!" and marches off. When everyone leaves, he gives an unpleasant look before sliding shut the door he was hiding behind.

This May Sting a Bit[]

Screamed at by Rinona, Lavertus again yells out that he'll never help, only because Crominus is there. Needing to give an answer to the young Rhino female on the hate he has towards the crocodile king, he blames the Croc entirely for ruining everything. Almost stating exactly what it was that he ruined, but stops and sighs.

A long time ago, Lavertus reveals that him and queen Crunket had a little love life in Chima, a life that had more meaning than that of which she had with Crominus. Full of jealousy, the Crocodile King brought from Reegul, the seeds of a plant that only grew in the Crocodile Swamp, one we've already encountered before, the Persuader Plant. Like daughter like father, Crominus used the plant to keep Lavertus away from "his" queen , but the power of love proved too powerful. However, the next demand that he had to carry out had nothing to do with love, it was all about breaking the rules. His eyes turned red, Lavertus marched to the sacred pool and tried to take the CHI, multiple guards alongside Lagravis catching him at the act. The young Lion was as surprised as his king once he turned back to normal, getting sent into exile for the punishment. He had the possibility to tell the truth, but that'll only mean war between the Crocs and Lions which he didn't want because, Crunket being a Crocodile meant she'll be dragged into the hostility.

Outland Base[]

Lavertus's Outland Base is apparently made by the power of Golden CHI he had won. His base contained a Speedor course, a living room, a secret garage, and Lavertus's "locked room," where it is revealed that his CHI was kept.

Relationships[]

Lagravis: Lavertus is Lagravis' brother.

Laval: Lavertus shows some respect to Laval, who happens to be his nephew.

Crunket: Crunket is Lavertus' love interest.

Crominus: Crominus is Lavertus' rival.

The rest of the group: Lavertus' interactions with the rest of the group is scant, as he usually appears just to give them snacks. The only difference is Cragger, who he tends to scare and/or talk with him in an odd "did/didn't" attitude. He probably did it to joke around with Cragger. Meanwhile, he shows that he respects Cragger and even

Appearance[]

Lavertus is a dark-skinned, blonde Lion with torn armor and clothing. Instead of the normal Lion headgear, he had a black one with a white paw print on it. He is so far the only known blonde Lion.

ShadoWind[]

Lavertus's alternate personality is Shadowind, who he apparently takes the place of whenever he is around the tribes and not in the Outlands. He never loses a Speedor race in Chima, which is how he has so much Golden CHI. Shadowind has a red/dark blue outfit and a helmet with the same colors but some white tusks sticking out of it.

Statistics[]

Notes[]

  • His quote 'Nobody's called me that name in a very long time' may be a reference to Obi-Wan Kenobi, a character from the Star Wars saga. Also, after being in exile he acts insane, similar to Yoda in the same movie trilogy.
  • Razar calls Lavertus's Outland Base a "lair".
  • Lavertus has gone a little insane from living in the Outlands for so long.
  • Lavertus has a massive stash of Golden CHI, which he won by racing as the mysterious racer ShadoWind.
  • A bit ironic is that his minifigure shows him with an angry face but in the shown, he is never shown to be angry.
  • Lavertus has a very neurotic attitude.
  • Episode 25 reveals that Lavertus wakes up in the middle of the night to talk to Queen Crunket's scarf.
  • As revealed in episode 26 'This May Sting a Bit', Lavertus is Lagravis' brother and Laval's uncle, this would make him a member of the Lion royal family and explain how he obtained the Black Valious.
  • In episode 26 'This May Sting a Bit', he is supposedly killed when he gives the 8 heroes time to escape, however, in episode 38, it's shown that he survived and managed to recover a couple of orbs of Golden CHI.
  • He has a pawprint on his headband that is "a symbol of uniqueness".
